I'm going to agree with PH, from his comment on Trotta's post, that I don't think the rules need to be changed all that much. I agree with Dave also, that it needs to be promoted more. The only real promotion, that I'm aware of anyways, is directed to the teams that are already playing. I find out about most tournaments through other wiffle ball message boards, either MWA'a or NEWA's, and now Big League’s (of course). Now we've only been playing in tournaments for a few years, but up until '05 I never knew they existed until I randomly stumbled across the MWA web site and saw that Matt was running a tournament in Three Rivers, in the worst rain storm I've ever been outside in but that's another story. My point being is that the sport needs to be more openly marketed, whether it be through radio ads, tv would be nice but who's going to pay for it? Dave was on the right track by getting flyers out to colleges and local gyms, which may already be getting done, no tournaments are put on around my area so this may already be getting done in other parts of the state.

As far as the rules go, I don't think you can take much more away from pitching with out it becoming a glorified home run derby. As fun as home runs are, I bet most of us would agree that having the ability to throw a shut out is just as exciting from the pitchers perspective, as hitting a walk off homer.

But that's just my opinion for what it's worth.
